“Amish Dutch Cookbook” by Ruth Redcay. Published by Ben Herman Dutch Books in 1970, the booklet is a soft cover measuring 6 x 9 inches with 64 pages. It is in very good condition, the pages are all clean and unmarked.
Amish Dutch Cookbook starts with a bit of history about the Amish, where they came from and how they lived back in the old day (which isn’t too different from how they live today!) The cookbook is divided into sections, each featuring a restaurant and some favorite recipes from the restaurant or hotel. Included are some Penn Dutch favorites such as shoo fly pie, apple butter, blitz kuchen, weiner schnitzel and fastnachts to name a few.
