Description
An elegant addition to a living room, this dollhouse miniature kit is 1:12 scale, made in the 1970’s. This is the Chippendale Drop Front Desk, circa 1760-1780, from Shenandoah Designs, Inc., Brookfield, Connecticut. The kit was designed by John R. Adams. Mr Adams quit his former job as an electronics sales manager for the Lockheed Corporation to start Shenandoah Designs Inc., designing the miniature Chippendale chairs, Pennsylvania Dutch dressers and Shaker cupboards that the company specialized in. The company merged with Houseworks later on, which continued selling the designs. The wood kit is unassembled, it is #3004 and has the components to make one desk; it is new old stock with instructions included.
All of my dollhouse miniatures come from the estate of a collector who died in 2006 at age 93. She was the child of a Naval officer who lived much of her life overseas, she never married and was a huge collector of dolls and dollhouses.
