Description
With traditional farmhouse styling, this dollhouse miniature is 1:12 scale. From Chrysnbon, the kit contains one drop leaf table, 2 ladder-back chairs and one picture frame. Made of wood-grained polystyrene, the kit is unassembled, it is #F-150 and is new old stock sealed in the original package but the box is quite banged up and the kit comes with a packet of paint that I suspect is completely dried up.
Judy Berman founded Chrysnbon Miniatures in the 1970’s. She created affordable miniature furniture kits patterned off of her own full-size antiques collection. She then added a complete line of accessories to compliment the furniture. The style of furniture and accessories reflect the turn-of-the-century furnishings of a typical early American home. At the time, collectible miniatures were expensive because they were mostly individually crafted.
Chrysnbon was basically the first company that specifically designed quality miniature pieces for the everyday collector. Ms. Berman continued to expand the line to include furniture and accessories for every room of the home, including living and dining areas, the kitchen, bed and bath. Although these items are all based on designs from the early 1900s, many of the items will also work on more modern settings. Plastic, also known as styrene, was chosen as the material because it provides intricate details and is affordable. The kits are easy to assemble and require few tools other than quality plastic cement as an adhesive. These kits can easily be accented with paint of any color to customize and truly make a one-of-a-kind collectible. Judy Berman sold the company to Dee’s Delights in the 1990s, and Chrysnbon items are now manufactured and distributed by Handley House in West Virginia.
All of my dollhouse miniatures come from the estate of a collector who died in 2006 at age 93. She was the child of a Naval officer who lived much of her life overseas, she never married and was a huge collector of dolls and dollhouses.
