Synopsis
From the preface:
“In this little book we are presenting some dishes which are popular in our country. Czech cooking has always been rather filling. Obeying health education, nowadays we eat fewer dumplings and leaner mea. Nevertheless, pork, dumplings and sauerkraut, or tenderloin with sour cream sauce still remain the most popular dishes. That does not mean we only have a few recipes for poultry. On the contrary, there are many different ways in preparing delicious dishes of fowl. Then there are the real local specialties, game and carp. Potatoes are our second bread and we know how to prepare them into plain as well as refined dishes.”
