Synopsis
The 18th Pillsbury Bake Off awarded the $25,000 grand prize to Mrs. Maxine Bullock’s Muffin Mix Buffet Bread. But the winning recipe was not featured on the cover for the third year in a row. Instead, they featured one of the prize winning cakes! I find it fascinating that they kept putting cakes on the covers, instead of the big winners – I guess it just reflects America’s obsession for cakes! Other big prize winning recipes included Gather-Round Pound Cake, Top Me Twice Cake, Easy Livin’ Caramel Cake, Roll-In Sugar Cookies and Tidbit Toppers. Fantastic addition for cookbook collector or foodie!! Such a great piece of history and full of delicious recipes, eighteenth in a series that continues today!
