“The Best in Cooking in Xenia Ohio” cookbook. Compiled by the Women’s Society of Work Service (W.S.W.S) of the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Xenia, the cookbook is a plastic-comb spiral bound soft cover measuring 6 x 9 inches with 42 plus pages. The cookbook is in fair to good gently used condition with wear to the covers particularly around the edges, some of the pages have handwritten recipes.
Synopsis
Here are favorites from local families, all contributors are named. Included are recipes handed down from generation to generation, favorites families ask for again and again. I’m not sure of the age of the cookbook, I am guessing the 1950’s, perhaps the 1940’s? based on the phone numbers in the cookbook. There are pages of advertising for local businesses, and empty spaces on pages where a previous owner has hand-written personal recipes.
