“The One-Eyed Fairies” by Georgia Eldredge Hanley with illustrations by Julia Greene. Published by Lothrop, Lee & Shepard Company, Boston, in 1924, the book is a hard cover measuring 5¼ x 7¾ inches with 214 pages. The book is in poor used condition with wear to the covers, the spine has separated from the book and there are scribbles and coloring throughout. Still, the most charming book ever!!
“This book has been written to tell little girls how much fun it is to learn to sew and make pretty things for their dolls, themselves, and other people.” The one-eyed fairies are sewing needles, with Sir Bodkin as their leader, always ready to help little Margaret with her sewing. Throughout the book are illustrations of stitches and things such as how to sew on buttons, basting, back-stitching and french knots.
